I run training classes for gundogs at all levels, from beginners up to advanced level, accommodating small groups, large groups and one to one. 

I am fortunate to have access to open moorland on Exmoor in late summer, where I run mostly walked up training; this can be on heather, bracken and long grass. This year I have been fortunate in obtaining some new ground near to my home.  The site consists of newly planted woodland with excellent paths and cover for all standards of dogs and owners. Training is very much geared up to the dog and handler succeeding, not failing. I believe in always starting my training classes on simple straight forward retrieves so the dog succeeds and then progressively make the retrieves more challenging for both the dog and handler, that way you keep the dog's confidence up which is positive training not negative.  If you push the dog on too quickly it is more likely to fail and that is negative training, which will result in both the dog and handler becoming disillusioned.

Training on Offer 

I offer a variety of training One to one instruction either at my training ground or I can visit you at your'e own home. Group training in small groups of 4-6, bigger groups can also be catered for. 

Training is geared to teaching the handler how to train their dog confidently and humanely; I train positively not negatively, ensuring dog and handler succeed and not fail in their training, which will build the confidence of  the dog and its' handler. I also offer training for pet dogs, either basic obedience or problem dogs which need rehabilitating due to the dog displaying unwanted behaviour.
